Well… I can’t wait any longer. It’s time for a post on one of my personal fav’s….. The Man. The Legend. Felix Bloxsom. Under the moniker PLASTiC PLATES, this cat has produced some MONSTER nu disco tracks. Lets start with his newest: a remix of Sneaky Sound System’s Friends. If this track doesn’t have you movin’ around, well…. I suppose there is little hope left. His remix of Katy Perry’s smash hit The One That Got Away is unparalleled in its ability to pay homage to the original while providing an undeniable groove. His sound is a fresh take on the genre refined by the likes of The Magician, Aeroplane, and Yuksek. These artists have shaped the Nu Disco genre since its inception; Felix showcases his unique take on the genre in his remix of I Don’t Know What to Do ft. Jeppe. The track oozes funk, and the Aussie pumps it full of fresh disco synth. JESUS! This man has soooo many good tracks, its near impossible to write this. Every time I think i’m done, I am reminded of yet another EPIC disco romp. For instance: Turn Your Back On Love. I Blame Coco’s original morphs into an epic disco love ballad. This song will have you staring off into space with a smile! …One more! Mark Ronson’s hit Record Collection undergoes plastification at Snow Globe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe. This festival caught my eye for one reason alone: The Plastic Plates! Rather than keep this rant going, I URGE you to check this man out as these are just a few of MANY disco rides you can embark on!
Enjoy!
